Pineapple and Orange Mocktail

A party is never complete without a cocktail. And in my case its mocktail. This is my first attempt towards making mocktails and hope to make more in future. Since it was my first attempt I wanted to play safe and went ahead with some subtle flavors which had a very slim chance of ruining the drink.

Dish Reminder:

  • I used market bought juices but it will be far more better to use real fruits. In that case cut the fruits and put the fruits into a blender with water and sugar as per your taste. Then strain to avoid any pulps of the fruits.

Pineapple and Orange Mocktail
Serves 6-8

Ingredients:

  • 300ml  of pineapple juice
  • 300ml of orange juice
  • 12-15 mint leaves
  • a pinch of powdered cumin seeds and black peppercorns which are dry roasted before
  • 1 lime - cut into pieces
  • 1 inch ginger - chopped
  • 1/4 tsp lime zest
  • lime wedges for serving
  • crushed ice for serving
Method:
  • In a jug mix the pineapple and orange juice.
  • Add the mint leaves, chopped ginger, lime zest and pieces of lime.
  • Put the jug in the fridge for 4-6 hours.
  • Mix the powdered spices with crushed ice. This step is optional but I liked that extra zing that they added to the drink.
  • When its time for serving fill the 1/4th of the glass with crushed ice.
  • Put the lime wedges in between the crushed ice.
  • Pour the juice into the glass.
  • Garnish with 2-3 mint leaves.
  • Serve immediately after serving.
