Ginger and Turmeric Tea
Ginger & Turmeric Tea
Ingredients:
(for 4 persons)
1/2 inch raw turmeric root
1 inch ginger root
A handful of Tulsi / Holy Basil leaves
A handful of mint leaves
Juice of 1/2 lime
1 tsp honey
250 ml water
Method:
In a saucepan pour the water.
While the water is warming up pound the ginger and turmeric in a mortar and pestle.
When the water starts to boil switch off the gas and add add the tulsi / Holy Basil leaves, crushed ginger and turmeric root in it.
Steep for 2 minutes maximum and then strain the water. Mix in the lime juice and honey.
Pour in glasses and serve immediately.
