Homemade Hot Sauce
Homemade condiments are a joy to relish with your favourite chips or fritters or any fried recipes. And this hot sauce is a bomb. After this I have stopped buying chilli sauces from the market. It's just perfectly flavourful and without any added sugar or preservatives...so it's a win-win situation for me on both the sides.
Homemade Hot Sauce
Makes 100 ml of hot sauce
Ingredients:
250 gm of red chillies
10-12 fat cloves of garlic
1 small onion – cut into
slices
Salt & pepper
1 cup of white vinegar (or enough to submerge the chillies)
2 tsp honey
Method:
In a saucepan throw in the vinegar, red chillies, garlic and onion and simmer until the garlic cloves become soft
to press.
Switch off the flame and leave them to cool down.
Once they are cold enough,
blend them to a fine puree.
Strain the puree through a
sieve to get the fine hot liquid.
Heat the liquid in a sauté pan and pour
in the strained hot sauce into it.
Add salt and pepper as per
taste and the honey.
Simmer for about 5-10
minutes depending on the consistency you want to achieve for your sauce.
Let it cool down and pour
in a washed and sterilised glass bottle or jar.
Use within 2 months.
This sounds great, going to give it a try!
