Sweet Lover....a pattiserry fan!! Although I am just a beginner, and sometimes baking
a whole cake really scares me off, I find these pastries extremely easy and fun
to make.
As for the Apple Tart, I
am head over heels in love with it. Apple and cinnamon is just the perfect
match and apple tart is like there abode of love, where they nurture all their good
stuff and turns them into something better, something more luscious!! And
since, I am yet to find the confidence to make a whole big tart; I am finding
my ways through these mini steps, by making mini tarts.
Mini Apple Tart
Makes 5 mini apple tarts
Ingredients:
1 storebought tart sheet
4 red apples
½ cup of brown sugar
1 and ½ tbsp of cinnamon
powder
A pinch of salt
2-3 tbsp of salted caramel
sauce
Whipped cream / ice cream
to serve
Juice of ½ lime
Method:
Cut the apple into thin
slices.
Take an ovenproof bowl and
put all the apple slices into it.
Add the brown sugar,
cinnamon powder, salt and lime juice.
Mix them well so that each
and every slice of apple gets a good coat.
Now put them inside the
microwave for 2-3 minutes.
Stir them after every 30
seconds. The idea is to soften them before placing them on the tart sheet.
Since we are making mini tarts, they will take comparatively less time and the
apples may not soften in that short time. Let them come to room temperature before using.
Place the mini tart pans
on the sheet upside down and cut the sheet, from a little distance around the
pans.
Grease the tart pans with
some melted butter and then place the sheet inside it.
Place the sliced and
softened apples inside them.
Butter the edges of the
tart sheet and pop them inside the oven at 200F for maximum 15 minutes or until
the tart sheet is golden brown.
Drizzle some salted
caramel sauce over the apples.
Serve them hot with a
generous scoop of ice cream.
