Mint Salted Lassi
It’s hard to find a man who does not want to sip lassi in
summer. Creamy and decadent drink loaded with dry fruits and flavoured with
cardamom powder and rose water is a pure bliss. Or if you want a richer
experience then add in some mangoes. But for a change...salted lassi is perfect too.
Add a little mint for some extra flavour. This lassi is a bit
different and the main flavour comes from the roasted cumin seeds. I have added dry red chillies to give the drink a little kick...and I
totally loved it!!
Mint Salted Lassi
Makes 4
Ingredients:
2 cups of thick yogurt
½ - ¾ cup of water
A pinch of kosher salt or as per taste, the lassi is
salted...so add according to your taste
1 tsp sugar
1 tbsp whole cumin seeds
1 dry red chilli
A handful of fresh mint leaves
Method:
Dry roast the cumin seeds and dry red chilli for two
minutes on medium flame. Then grind them to a fine powder. Keep aside.
In a blender blend throw in the yogurt, water, salt,
sugar, the mint leaves and 2 tsp of the cumin seeds powder until froth start to
form on the surface.
If the lassi appears to be thick then add more water to
thin down the consistency.
Pour the lassi in a tall glass with some ice cubes and
sprinkle some roasted cumin seeds powder on top of it. Garnish with mint leaves
and serve chilled.
